Be Grateful To Allah, Mufti Says

His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has encouraged Muslim faithful to always live righteously and strive to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for the bounties He offers them, citing the example of the performance of Hajj, which is done once in a lifetime.
The Mufti’s spiritual advice was delivered on his behalf by Sheikh Ali Juma Shiwuyu, the UMSC Head of Hajj and Umrah Office, during a well-attended thanksgiving function organized by the family of Haj Saidi Nsamba, an officer at the Ministry of Education and Sports, upon his successful completion of the Hajj pilgrimage to the Holy City of Makkah in Saudi Arabia—one of the significant pillars of the Islamic faith. Sheikh Shiwuyu ended by sharing the state of affairs at UMSC, which he described as stable and smoothly operating.
The function was held at Haj Nsamba’s newly built family home in Mbaliga Village, Kaganda County, Mukono District, on Saturday, August 23, 2025. All preachers who spoke earlier, including Sheikh Abbas Zubair Ssenkuba, the host Kadhi of Mukono, and Sheikh Ismail Kazibwe, Kadhi of Kamuli Muslim District, recited several Qur’anic verses admonishing believers to always express gratitude to their Guardian Lord, Allah, for the countless favours He bestows upon them day and night.
Meanwhile, Haj Jamal Basalirwa, the Commissioner of Police in charge of protocol, encouraged Haj Nsamba to keep thanking Allah that both his parents are still alive and witnessed how Allah has blessed their son to perform Hajj this year. “So brother, never forsake your parents, and whatever little you have, share it with them as a token of appreciation, for they struggled to bring you up,” Haj Basalirwa remarked.
Sheikh Ssenkuba, in his concluding remarks, thanked Haj Nsamba for his unwavering support towards Muslim activities in the district. “He has been very instrumental in providing us with the necessary support, including funds which we utilized to secure land titles of UMSC properties in various areas that were on the verge of being grabbed by unscrupulous individuals,” Sheikh Ssenkuba said. He also reminded his flock to maintain peace and keep away from violence during the forthcoming national elections.
On his part, Haj Saidi Nsamba, flanked by other pilgrims with whom he travelled to the Holy Land, shared their unforgettable memories of the sacred journey.
In attendance were Sheikh Abdu-Barri Muhammad Kaloozi, the Secretary for Zakat Collection and Distribution, several Sheikhs, family members, area leaders, and other well-wishers.
