Leadership from its Inception

1st UMSC administration under His Eminence Sheikh Maulana Abdul Razak Matovu (1972-1974)

Maulana Matovu was the first Chief Kadhi of Uganda elected by the first Uganda Muslim Supreme Council General Assembly in 1972.
He was the first Sunni cleric to translate the Holy Quran from Arabic to Luganda in Uganda and the first black African Muslim scholar to sit on the Executive Committee of World Muslim League in Saudi Arabia. Out of his efforts, World Muslim League was established in Uganda.

 

2nd UMSC administration under His Eminence Sheikh Yusuf Sulaiman Matovu (1974-1978)

 

 

3rd UMSC interim administration under His Eminence Sheikh Kassim Mulumba (1979-1983)

 

4th UMSC administration under His Eminence Sheikh Abdu Obeid Kamulegeya (1983-1985)

 

5th UMSC administration under His Eminence Sheikh Kassim Mulumba re-occupies UMSC Headquarter Office (1985-1986)

 

6th UMSC interim administration under His Eminence Sheikh Hussein Rajab Kakooza, the chief Kadhi of Uganda (1986-1991)

 

 

7th UMSC administration under His Eminence Sheikh Saad Ibrahim Luwemba (1991-1997)

 

8th UMSC care-taker administration under His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Semakula, Buyenga Butambala (1997-2000)

 

9th UMSC current administration under His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje (2000 to date)
