Mufti Urges Parents to Raise Disciplined Children
His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda has implored parents to ensure the proper upbringing of their children for the future of prosperity of the country. According to Sheikh Mubaje, the country has witnessed the deterioration of discipline among many young people. “When you look at social media many children lack discipline. Previously, they were abusing Mubaje, they moved to President, Bishops and have now started on the Kabaka- King,” Sheikh Mubaje said. He was presiding over the memorial prayers of the late Fatuma Kalema, the mother of his personal Assistant Prince Habibu Musa Mawanda at Katereke village in Nsanji Sub-county ,Kyengera Town council, Wakiso district on Saturday Feb 17th 2024. He asked parents to follow up on the schools where they send their children to ensure they are being trained into responsible citizens.
“This is the only way we shall ensure a stable country,” he said. Speaking about Muslim leadership, the Mufti noted that they were going on with their duties at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council-UMSC.
“All is well at your headquarters. we are all going on normally with our work to serve Muslims,”Sheikh Mubaje. He also hailed prince Habibu Mawanda for his humility and humbleness, which has endeared him to his workmates at the UMSC headquarters. “It’s because of his humbleness that he has made progress in such a short time. I want to thank his family for bringing up such a disciplined child. I knew the deceased through the character of his son,” he said. Earlier on the Deputy Mufti His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Waiswa also heaped praise on prince Mawanda for rejecting temptations to steal vital documents from the Mufti’s office. “I want to thank Mawanda for being truthful to his duties and firm when he rejected juicy offers from some people to steal vital documents from the Mufti’s office,” he said.
The UMSC Secretary General, Hadji Abbas Ssekyanzi Mulubya asked Muslims to support UMSC projects like Radio Bilal, GTV and Islamic Call University College. “We advise you to listen to follow our media channels for authentic information and news from UMSC,” he said. Sheikh Elias Kigozi, the Kadhi of Wakiso Muslim District hailed the Mufti for standing all kinds of humiliation to lift the banner of Islam in Uganda higher. “Previously we only heard about Muslim leadership, but it was not felt on the ground.
