Mufti Commissions New Mosque, Presides Over Funeral Of Murdered Cattle Traders

His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has commissioned a newly constructed mosque at Putiputi Trading Centre in Palisa Muslim District on Monday, Feb 5th 2024.The mosque was funded by a Turkish-based charity, the International Hilt Foundation, headed by its Country Director, Mr. Mahmuut Basibuyuuk. Sheikh Mubaje, in his speech, paid special tribute to the donor for the noble services, including social transformation programs, offered to less privileged people in Uganda and Africa in general. Turning to the Muslims of the area and beneficiaries of the new mosque, Sheikh Mubaje implored them to maintain the sanctity of the worship place by intensifying their devotion to worshipping the Almighty Allah, observing the five obligatory prayers, and striving to instill Islamic values in their children, equipping them with life skills to grow up as responsible citizens. In attendance were Muslim leaders led by Sheikh Abdul- Karim Mujumbi, the Kadhi of Palisa Muslim District, local Govt area leaders, prominent Sheikhs, Women and youth Leaders. Later in the day, Mufti Mubaje joined multitudes of mourners who turned up at the burial of the late Umar Binyota, a resident of Namunsi and Director of Namunsi Meat Suppliers, Mbale City. He was killed together with three workers, Ashraf Ramathan, Abbas Mubaje, and Umar Walume. Sheikh Mubaje condemned the gruesome murder of the deceased persons and thereafter led the funeral prayers for the dead.
The burial was attended by many prominent Muslim leaders led by Sheikh Isah Masaba, the Kadhi of Bugisu Muslim District, and members of the business fraternity, among others.
