Muslim Leaders From Greater Mpigi, Kamuli Express Loyalty to UMSC, Mufti

Muslim leaders from Greater Mpigi and Kamuli districts, led by Sheikh Muhammad Idi Kabuye and Sheikh Ismail Kazibwe, respectively, paid a courtesy visit to the Mufti of Uganda at the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council-UMSC headquarters.
The Greater Mpigi delegation expressed sympathy to the Mufti His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, citing disruption by a group of individuals who conducted a smear media campaign, sowing discord among Muslim faithful and plotting against the Mufti. The Kamuli delegation was received by the Mufti’s Deputy Sheikh Mohammad Ali Waiswa and UMSC National Management Committee members such as Hon. Hadji Abbas Ssekyanzi Muluubya, Secretary General; Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, Deputy Secretary General in charge of Administration and Finance and Sheikh Imran Ssali, Secretary for Religious Affairs.
Other members present were Hon. Kagiiko Imam Shaffi, Secretary for Social Services; Hon. Haj Ali Juma Ngobi, Secretary for Finance and Planning; Sheikh Abdu-Karim Abdallah Katamba, Director of Halal; Sheikh Juma Bakhit Cucu, Secretary for Education; and Hon. Abubaker Were Wandagho, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
Both delegations expressed gratitude to the Mufti for his focus, steadfastness, and patience amid challenges. They reaffirmed their loyalty to UMSC and the Mufti. The leaders were encouraged to adhere to the UMSC Constitution in their official duties.
Hon. Wandagho advised Kamuli Muslim District Leaders to initiate the election process to replace Haj Ngobi, the recently appointed Secretary for Finance. Additional speeches were delivered by department heads.
