Be Grateful Of God’s Favours , Mufti Says.
His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje the Mufti of Uganda has implored Muslim faithful to be conscious of Almighty Allah’s favours unto them then in turn , He will grant them more of His countless bounties. This was part of his soul enriched message he delivered to a well attended Thanksgiving ceremony organized by the family of Haj Asuman Kitunzi, prominent elder, a member of UMSC Majlis Shura held in their home in Hoima Oil City in Bunyoro- Toro Muslim region , on Saturday Jan, 20th 2024.
He urged Muslims to emulate those virtuous acts because they are drawn from the Holy teachings of the Glorious Quran and the Sayings of Prophet Muhammad ( PBUH).
He further illustrated the moving sermon with a narration of three Male believers among the children of Israel who had suffered from various ailments ranging from Leprosy, sculp and boldness head disease and the last was blinded.
The three men had spent most of their lives worshipping at the synagogue and one day had a rare divine encounter with an angel who asked each of them to beseech for God’s favours.” They all offered supplications to be healed off their sufferings and also prayed for blessings for livelihoods. Allah answered their prayers and healed them of diseases including poverty thereby enriched each of them with large livestock of animals that comprised of camels, Cattle and goats . Amazing, within a period of only twenty years, Almighty Allah tried of their faith when he sent the same angel who appeared in human and visited each one of them in a sorry state as they had live before while asking for help. The angel who looked like a destitute keep on reminding they extend help because they were once in same state. The first and second failed the test as they rejected and falsely claimed that their riches and hood healthy were their self making while the later humbly recalled how he was blind, poor and God granted him favours and he immediately and willingly wanted to donate goats to the “destitute”( angel). So, Allah was pleased him and blessed him to live more meaningful life” Sheikh Mubaje preached.
Sheikh Mubaje remarked that he had cited the narration because it matched well with Haj Kitunzi good gestures in remembrance of God’s favours after successfully came out of head surgery despite of old age , his body faculties are still intact.
He singly thanked his elderly wife and children for taking for taking care of the elder and also for their solid support towards UMSC. In the same way thanked Counsel Muhammad Mbabazi, another Kitunzi’s family Member for donating 20 acres to the Islamic Call University College that belongs to UMSC in Hoima.
Lastly, Sheikh Mubaje asked Muslims in Bunyoro to ignore whatever misinformation being circulated in media by a Kampala based clique against UMSC and him as a person. ” image they have earned a lot of money from publishing fake news against me which they don’t even remit to me” Sheikh Mubaje observed drawing laughter from the attentive guests. Earlier on Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, Deputy Secretary General in charge of Finance and administration, Sheikh Abdu- Karim Abdallah Katamba, the Director of Halal, Mr Brian Adyeri, Hoima Oil City Mayor, Mr. Badru Mugabi, the Resident District Commissioner- RCC, Sheikh Ibrahim Babanja, the Kadhi of Bunyoro- Muslim District, gave speeches respectively. While Counsel Musa Kabega, a son and Haj Asuman Kitunzi, on behalf of the family thanked the guests for honouring their invitations.
In attendance were Eng. Sheikh Siraje Kavuma, former UMSC Secretary General, Sheikh Twaha Uthman, Special Envoy of the Mufti to Southern Sudan, Hon. Sinan Abdu Nsenye, Former UMSC Secretary For Finance and Planning, prominent personalities from area among others.
