Mufti Mourns Nile Star Coaches Proprietor

The Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje and the National Management Committee of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council-UMSC have conveyed condolences to the family of the late Haj Twaha Agarila. Haj Twaha,the Director of Nile Star Coaches, which connects Kampala to towns in the West Nile region, including Yumbe and Paidha, was honored in a funeral prayer at the Gaddafi National Mosque on Friday morning. Mufti Mubaje praised Haj Agarila, who passed away in his late 40s, for leading a meaningful life as a devout Muslim, emphasizing his unwavering support for Muslim unity under UMSC. The Mufti highlighted Haj Agarila’s hospitality towards him during a time of hostility within the Muslim community and urged others to follow suit. Additionally, he acknowledged the ongoing land dispute between UMSC and a businessman, expressing confidence in truth prevailing.
Hon. Hadji Abbas Sekyanzi Muluubya, the UMSC Secretary General, and his deputy, Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, commended the late Agarila for his entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors within the Muslim community. Hon. Ismail Ogama, a former Member of the National Parliament and now a Presidential Advisor, recounted Haj Agarila’s final days battling colon cancer in a hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. He highlighted Haj Agarila’s wish for his belongings to be distributed in accordance with Islamic succession.The gathering included various dignitaries such as Hon. Haj Muzamir Abon, Sheikh Imran Ssali, Haj Muhamood Kateregga Namuguzi, Sheikh Hamid Sserwadda Busungu, Sheikh Musa Khalili, Sheikh Abdu-Karim Abdallah Katamba, Hon. Abubaker Were Wadangho, Hon. Sheikh Rashid Moro, H.E. Hon. Nusurah Tiperu (Ugandan Ambassador to Turkiye), Hon. Avako Naima Melissa Gule (Woman MP, Yumbe), and other influential personalities from the West Nile region.
