Hundreds Attend Funeral of Hajjat Hanisha Namwanje Ssemambo

His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, led a multitude of mourners to the burial of the late Hajjat Hanisha Namwanje Ssemambo, the wife of His Eminence Sheikh Abdallah Ibrahim Ssemambo Tamusuza. She was laid to rest at Ssimba village, Kibibi Subcounty in Butambala, on Wednesday, 8th, 2023.
In his address to the grieving crowd, Sheikh Mubaje cited several Holy Quranic verses explaining the transition from earthly life and shared the divine sayings of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. He highlighted the virtue of a female Muslim believer who devoted herself to regular worship of Almighty Allah, patience, and guarding herself from promiscuity, exhibiting respect and humility to her husband. Upon death, Almighty Allah bestows her divine grace, granting entrance to the lofty paradise through the gates of her choice. These consoling words were in response to Sheikh Ssemambo’s testimony that his late wife was pious, humble, loving, and passionate about seeing her children memorize the Holy Quran, a goal they had almost achieved at the time of her passing.
Sheikh Mubaje also discussed the progress at the UMSC, emphasizing the strong foundation laid in administration, human resources, and property management based on the recent revision of its Constitution. He cited the inaugural two-day Islamic Conference of Muslim Clerics, a first-of-its-kind event held at UMSC Headquarters from Nov 7th-8th, 2023. The conference aimed to foster unity and respect among Ugandan Islamic Scholars as they execute their roles in propagating the Islamic message to the wider public. In his concluding remarks, Mufti Mubaje condemned the continued massacres perpetrated by the ruthless State of Israel, sparing no child, woman, elderly person, or other vulnerable members in Gaza Strip, Palestine. This occurs seemingly under the watchful eyes of the international community.
Earlier on, Hon. Prof. Dr Muhammadi Lubega Kisambira, the UMSC National Chairperson, and Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, the Acting Deputy Secretary-General in charge of Finance, delivered speeches emphasizing unity within the Muslim community. Prof. Lubega posed illustrative questions to the attentive learners, asking, “What legacy would you like to leave upon your earthly departure? As an oppressor, unifier, discord-causer, or community developer?” He concluded by highlighting the UMSC’s projected 5-year Strategic Plan, aiming to transform the entire Muslim populace. In attendance were UMSC members of the General Assembly, executives, management, national legislators to the Ugandan Parliament, including Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, Hon. Abdallah Kiwanuka Mulima Mayuni, Sheikh Abdu Obeid Kamulegeya, head of the Shura committee, UMSC Electoral Commission officials, assistants to the Mufti, District Kadhis, prominent Sheikhs, Imams, and prominent figures in the business fraternity, among others.
