Mufti Commissions the Newly Built UMSC Main Gate

His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, has officially inaugurated the newly built main gate of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) headquarters in Old Kampala. The gate is part of the ongoing construction project, which also includes the restoration of various sections of the UMSC headquarters, undertaken by the Kampala-based Spatial Concepts Construction Company.
In a brief speech to the sizable crowd of Muslims who had gathered to witness this momentous event shortly before Friday prayers, Mufti Mubaje expressed his humble gratitude to Almighty Allah for bestowing divine blessings upon the successful completion of the project.
He extended special thanks to the team of engineers, led by Mr. Dancan, for their outstanding work. Mufti Mubaje remarked, “Several companies had shown interest in executing the project, but Spatial Construction Company emerged as the best choice, with an impressive architectural design that beautifully complements the UMSC National Mosque complex. The construction has turned out exactly as depicted in the artistic impression.’
In conclusion, Sheikh Mubaje announced that the commercial premises adjacent to the main gate would open in January 2024. This move will facilitate the relocation of lockup shops currently within the mosque courtyard to the new premises, creating space for the construction of Islamic Call University Lecture Blocks. He urged Muslim faithful to continue supporting UMSC in its mission to initiate development projects nationwide.
Engineer Byaboona Stuart, on behalf of Spatial Construction Company, expressed deep gratitude to the Mufti and the UMSC National Management Committee for entrusting them with the project. He explained how they diligently carried out the construction exercise, including rigorous testing of building materials, and pledged to complete the remaining construction phases on schedule.
The event was attended by other esteemed figures, including Sheikh Abdullah Ibrahim Ssemambo Tamusuza, the Deputy Mufti; Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, the 2nd Deputy Mufti; and various UMSC departmental heads, led by Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, the Acting Secretary-General. Former UMSC leaders, under the guidance of Dr. Edris Sserugo Kasenene, and prominent members of the Muslim community also graced the occasion.
