Hundreds Send off Haj Adam Buhangwa in Bushenyi

His Eminence, Sheikh Abdallah Ibrahim Ssemambo Tamusuza, the Deputy Mufti led a multitude of mourners from all walks of life at the send off the late Haj Adam Buhangwa, a prominent Muslim elder at his ancestral burial grounds at Kigoma Village, Ishaka in Bushenyi district on Saturday.
Various speakers including former Local Gov’t Minister, Prof Tarsis Kabwegyere, local District Leaders, Clerics from across denominations and, family heads, praised the deceased as a unifier with a huge legacy towards development of the their area.
Sheikh Ssemambo, who represented His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda spoke highly of the late Haj Adam Buhangwa.
“Indeed your big turn up at this funeral is testimony that the late has been an illustratious soul who offered himself to serve others,” he remarked.
Sheikh Ssemambo complimented the late for the great sacrifice in educating all his children who have since graduated in various proffessions. “This has improved the image of Muslims and Islam in the district,” he said. Sheikh Ssemambo urged Muslims to emulate the late Haj Adam Buhangwa to live righteously, work hard and educate their children so that they grow up as responsible citizens who can contribute towards the Muslim community and the nation at large.
Earlier on, Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, the UMSC Secretary General and Sheikh Abdul-Karim Abdallah Katamba, the Director of Halal department also hailed the deceased as the UMSC’s icon in Bushenyi, noting that he was often vibrant in promoting the council’s development agenda in the community.Dr. Captain Baguma Erias, who spoke on behalf of his siblings, described the their late father as a devot Muslim, loving dad and disciplinarian who was passionate for education and staunch supporter of UMSC and very respectful to Muslim Clerics.
Other attendees included members of the UMSC National Management Committee and local Muslim Leaders led by the Kadhi among others.
