UMSC Awqaf Department Receives Land Titles

Sheikh Sulaiman Luyinda, the Kadhi of Rakai Muslim District, accompanied by Haj Uthuman Hassan Kavuma, the Officer in charge of Awqaf(endowment) in the district has presented seven land titles of prime land to the Awqaf department.
This follows a circular issued by the Awqaf department, instructing Muslim leaders in lower structures and the general public to share any information regarding UMSC properties nationwide as part of an ongoing record updating exercise.
Hon. Nasser Musa Ondongkara, the head of the Awqaf department, expressed his appreciation for the positive response and exemplary behavior of these officials. He emphasized the importance of land in the operationalization of designated projects and highlighted UMSC’s strategic development plan for 2023-2032, which focuses on resource mobilization to promote Islamic activities and the welfare of Muslims nationwide.
Mr. Ondongkara encouraged other community Muslim leaders to follow this example. The brief event was attended by Hon. Sinan Abdu Nsenye, the UMSC Secretary for Finance and Planning.
