Kiboga Muslim District Leaders Hailed for Development Initiatives

The UMSC Finance and Planning Secretary Hon. Sinan Abdu Nsenye has hailed Kiboga Muslim District Leaders led by their Kadhi, Sheikh Musa Luwagga for coming up with developmental initiatives including the construction of befitting district offices, Magnificent Mosque, Kadhi’s Office and commercial premises for generating income. He expressed his appreciation in a sensation meeting with the Kiboga Muslim District Management Committee in the Kadhi’s office on Friday, Aug 18 2023.
Citing clauses in the UMSC Constitution, which provide for the generation of funds to finance the planned Muslim activities, Hon. Nsenye tipped the participants on the best possible ways to maximize the money collected from the annual alms giving- Zakah, Swadaq- personal offerings, donations and fees accruing from rentals and halal activities among others.
“The UMSC Constitution permits you to lobby funds both locally and internationally in order to create permanent endowments that will generate stable income for your development activities,” Mr. Nsenye remarked. He also reminded Muslim leaders that they haven’t done much in sensitizing the faithful to contribute funds towards the development of their faith and yet it is their obligation to do so.
“Ordinary Muslims are often heard asking what UMSC has done for them. So, it is your responsibility to remind them and ask them that before blaming anyone, where is their contribution?. This calls for combined efforts between the leaders and the led in terms of developing Islam,” he said.
In his concluding remarks, Mr Nsenye highlighted several basic financial principles that include transparency, accountability, respect for rank and effective communication among others, saying these will help boast and protect revenue, which in turn be re- invested to operate planned Muslim activities at all levels of the UMSC Administrative units
Earlier on, Sheikh Musa Luwagga, the Kadhi of Kiboga Muslim district presented his report on the state of affairs in district.
