UMSC Ag. Secretary-General launches On-Spot Check on Muslim District Administration, Activities.

Hon. Haji Muhammad Ali Aluma, the Secretary General of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), has initiated a comprehensive on-spot check of the general administration and activities in Muslim districts. The exercise started in Sembabule Muslim District, which falls under the West Buganda Muslim region, with the aim of evaluating the performance of lower UMSC officers in their daily administrative duties.

During a media briefing about the exercise, Hon. Aluma emphasized its significance in gathering crucial data related to the implementation of strategic developmental programs. He commended Sheikh Abdallah Semakula, the Kadhi of Sembabule, and his management team for their presence and dedication at the Muslim District Office in Mateete Trading Center.

Hon. Aluma addressed the district team, acknowledging their voluntary service without designated monthly salaries or allowances, and highlighted the noble cause of serving in religious institutions like UMSC, which aligns individuals on the righteous path toward divine bliss in the hereafter.

“As we all know that serving in purely religious Institutions such as UMSC places someone on the right track of noble cause and hereafter, will attain divine bliss before the Creator,” he said. He stressed the importance of utilizing idle resources to generate income. “This calls for collective efforts, proper planning, be focused, pool the little which you always collect from activities such as the slaughtering of animals for public consumption, accountability, will drastically bring positive challenges in the administration of activities,” he said. During the visit, Hon. Aluma was accompanied by Hon. Sinan Abdu Nsenye, the UMSC Secretary for Finance & Planning. They conducted a guided tour of nearby institutions, including Mateete Muslim Primary School and Mawogola High School, the only Muslim-based secondary school in the area.

Hon. Aluma urged the head teachers to maintain close collaboration with the UMSC Education Department. He also inspected a newly constructed mosque nearing completion. Before concluding the visit, Hon. Aluma paid a courtesy call to the Resident District Commissioner.
