H.E the Mufti urges Muslims to inculcate Islamic discipline in their children

His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda has called upon Muslim parents to strive and teach their children Islamic values to enable them grow up into spiritual strong and disciplined adults. This was part of the speech delivered on behalf of the Mufti by the Regional Assistant for Kampala, Sheikh Hamid Serwadda Busungu at the memorial prayers for the late Salima Muzaki, the wife of Sheikh Salim Sowedi Balyegiira , the Bugema County Sheikh under Bugisu Muslim District at their residence in Bugema cells in the outskirts of  Mbale City, on Saturday July 8th, 2023.   Sheikh Balyegiira and the late Muzaki are the parents of Sowedi Mbogo Balyegiira, one of the assistants in the Office of the Mufti.

In his speech, Sheikh Serwadda, cited traditions Prophet Muhammad PBUH where he was reported admonishing Muslim faithful that upon death, all the deeds and activities of a believer, cease except continuous sadaq-alms giving, beneficial knowledge and prayers from a pious child. “So, prepare to leave this earthly life when you have left behind God fearing, loving and caring Children who will pray for you after your demise,” Sheikh Serwadda preached. Earlier on, Hon.Muhammad Aluma, the UMSC Secretary General briefed Muslims about the state of affairs at UMSC including the massive physical developments, the recent cooperation agreement signed between UMSC and the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Education opportunities at the UMSC based Islamic Call University College-ICUC and Scholarships offered from different countries among many others things. On his part, Sheikh Ahmad Masaba Pole, the Kadhi of Bugisu Muslim District cautioned Muslim parents to go slow on the craze of DNA if they are to safe guard their marriages.

“Subjecting your children to DNA testing is an outright personal attestation that there are adulterous tendencies in the family,” Sheikh Pole remarked.

In attendance were members of the UMSC Management who included Sheikh Abdul-Karim Katamba, the Director of Halal department, Sheikh Habibu Musa Mawanda, the Personal Assistant to the Mufti, Haj Sulaiman Musana Kawangunzi, UMSC Protocol Officer, Hon. Haj Hamdan Kaukha, General Assembly Member, Sheikh Ishaq Naminya, Member of Shura Committee, County Sheikhs, Imams, politicians and local civil leaders among many others.
