UMSC Hosts SACCO Technical Team
A team of experts in Savings Credit & Cooperative Society – SACCO led by Mr. Ashiraph Muwayi, an Accountant has paid a courtesy visit to the UMSC Secretary General Hon. Muhammad Ali Aluma. The other members of the team were Mr. Wasswa Hassan, Ms Nassimbwa Haawa, an Administrator, and Mr. Mutoro Isaac, a Certified Public Accountant and Managing Director of Kampala based Consultancy firm- Isaac Newton & Partners.
Hon..Aluma met the team on Monday afternoon June 12, 2023 in his Office at the UMSC Headquarters in Old Kampala.They had a wide range of discussions involving the actualization of the UMSC based SACCO registered a year ago under the name- Majis -SACCO designated to operate under the UMSC structure comprising 78 Muslim Districts within the ten Muslim Regions, national wide.
In his remarks, Hon. Aluma, explained to his guests how the UMSC management is eagerly waiting to benefit from their vast experience in the operationalization of the SACCO activities.
“We need a strong team that will lead us to rebrand our SACCO with new a business strategy, Cooperate Governance, sensitization of the community, develop an Investment plan and follow up activities,” Hon. Aluma remarked.
Both parties agreed to see to it that Majlis-SACCO activities commence as soon as possible by setting up Committees that comprising a supervisory board, audit, loans and Investment committees among others beginning of early next month.
In attendance were Mr. Sinan Abdu Nsenye, the UMSC Secretary for Finance & Planning, Mrs Afua Mugumya, an Accountant, and Mr. Katuuma Bashir, the Personal Assistant to Hon. Aluma.
