UMSC partners with Insan Charity to enhance Education at Islamic Call University College (ICUC)
The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has entered into a partnership with Insan, an international charity based in Kuwait that operates educational institutions and sponsors education programs worldwide. The collaboration specifically focuses on UMSC’s higher institution of learning, Islamic Call University College (ICUC), located on Old Kampala Hill.
Counsel Norman Mbabazi, the ICUC University Secretary, announced that the partnership inauguration will coincide with the 3rd Graduation Ceremony later today. This significant event will see 232 students graduating in various disciplines.
A delegation of nine officials from Insan Charity, led by Dr. Khaled Alotaibi, Dr. Bader Al Zaid, and Meshary Aldulaimi, arrived at Entebbe Airport via Qatar Airways on May 21st, 2023.
Upon their arrival at the UMSC Headquarters in the afternoon, the guests from were warmly received by His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, the 2nd Deputy Mufti, Sheikh Juma Bakhit Cucu, UMSC Secretary for Education and Prof. Dr Badru.M.Kiggundu, the Chairperson ICUC Governing Council.
After participating in the Zuhur (afternoon) prayers at the National Mosque, Dr. Khaled addressed Muslim congregants and revealed that their organization is committed to sponsoring ICUC in terms of infrastructure development, establishing campuses in various parts of the country, and implementing online education programs, among other initiatives.
In his welcoming remarks on behalf of His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa expressed gratitude for the timely partnership and emphasized its significance.
As of now, the ICUC staff are finalizing the preparations for a colorful graduation ceremony scheduled for May 22nd, 2023. The event will commence with a procession starting at 10 am in the morning. The guests were given a guided tour of the ICUC premises.
