Iraqi National donates Land, Mosques in Kassanda, Mbale
Dr. Hafedh Awad Khalaf, an Iraqi citizen, has presented property documents regarding his personal donations of land, mosques he constructed thereon in Kasanda and Mbale districts. He purchased a piece of land in Jemba LC 1, Jemba ward, Kassanda Town Council in Kassanda District under Mubende Muslim District. He also constructed a mosque on land donated by one Muslim male Sowedi Mabonga in Mafutu village, Bukhumwa Parish, Bumbobi Sub-county, Mbale district, which was given to His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda.
During his courtesy visit to the UMSC Headquarters on May 12th, 2023, Dr. Hafedh noted that his donations were a manifestation of his spiritual gratitude to Almighty Allah, as well as his commitment to promoting Islam in the designated areas.In response, Sheikh Mubaje, on behalf of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC), expressed gratitude to the donor and assured him that the properties would be utilized appropriately. He also encouraged other donors to follow Dr. Hafedh’s example by channeling their contributions through the UMSC, which serves as the recognized umbrella body for all Ugandan Muslims.
Sheikh Mubaje emphasized the importance of donors coordinating with the relevant UMSC offices when initiating social transformation programs in different areas of the country. The event was attended by Hon. Muhammad Ali Aluma, UMSC Secretary General, Sheikh Ali Juma Shiwuyu, Secretary for UMRA & Hijja Affairs, Mr.Nasser.M.Odongkara, UMSC Secretary for Awqaf (endowment), and Sheikh Sensuku Bashir, the Kadhi of Mubende Muslim District.
