Construction of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) five-storey apartment block in Nanjjanankumbi, Lubaga Division, is nearing completion, with engineers projecting that the remaining works will be finalised by the end of December 2026.
The development, which comprises 27 housing units, is part of the Council’s efforts to expand its income-generating investments and strengthen its financial sustainability.

The progress of the project was inspected on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, by the Mufti of Uganda, His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, accompanied by his deputies and members of the National Management Committee.
The inspection followed the Council’s weekly management meeting at its headquarters in Old Kampala. It also coincided with the Mufti’s return from an official working visit to Russia, where he attended an international conference.
During the guided tour, engineers supervising the construction briefed the delegation on the progress of the works and indicated that the project was in its final stages, with finishing works expected to be completed by the end of December.
The delegation expressed satisfaction with the progress, describing the project as another milestone in UMSC’s efforts to build a sustainable financial resource base and reduce dependence on contributions from well-wishers and donors.

The members commended the Mufti for spearheading revenue-generation initiatives, expressing hope that more investment opportunities would be developed to strengthen the Council’s financial position.
The delegation included Deputy Mufti His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, Second Deputy Mufti His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, Secretary General Hajji Abbas Muluubya Ssekyanzi, Deputy Secretary General in charge of Finance and Administration Counsel Hajji Muhammad Ali Aluma, and Director of Sharia Professor Dr. Sheikh Ziyad Swaleh Lubanga, among other members of the National Management Committee.
