
His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda, on his own behalf and on behalf of the entire UMSC fraternity, has sent a condolence message to the family of the late Hajj Idi Basajjabalaba former resident of Bushenyi , following the passing of his widow, Hajjat Aziida Basajjabalaba. She passed away recently while undergoing advanced treatment in Germany.
The late Hajjat Aziida was the mother of several children, including the renowned Haj Hassan Basajjabalaba, a prominent businessman and proprietor of multiple investments, including Kampala International University in Uganda and beyond.
In the condolence message issued from the Mufti’s office on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, Sheikh Mubaje urged the bereaved family to remain patient, steadfast, courageous, and united in mourning her loss. He said,
”You have indeed demonstrated your deep respect and devotion in fulfilling the Islamic teachings of caring for parents in their old age, as ordained by Almighty Allah in the Holy Quran.”
The Mufti concluded with supplications, beseeching Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul of the late Hajjat Aziida with grace and mercy and to accept all the good deeds she performed during her lifetime.
Additionally, the Mufti has directed the Department of Religious Affairs to organize her Salat al-Janazah, as the bereaved family prepares to retrieve her body from Germany. The burial is scheduled for Saturday.
