Mufti Hosts New Turkish Religious Attaché.

His Eminence Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda has welcomed Hon. Yilmaz Karadogan, the newly appointed Islamic Religious Attaché and Head of Diyanet Vakfi at the Turkish Embassy in Kampala.
Hon. Karadogan was accompanied by Sheikh Jamir Kakande, who had been serving in an acting capacity. During the courtesy visit, Hon. Karadogan said that he wanted to familiarize the Mufti’s Office with his recent appointment with the aim of fostering the ongoing relationship between the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) and Diyanet, which has been progressing smoothly over the past several years.
In response, Mufti Mubaje warmly welcomed the new Diyanet representative to Uganda. He also expressed gratitude to the Turkish government, under the wise leadership of H.E. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for its global advocacy for the Muslim World. Additionally, he commended the previous representatives for their significant contributions to the development initiatives during their tenure.
The Mufti also provided an overview of UMSC and outlined the strategic plan for the upcoming five years. Other high-ranking officials present at the meeting, including Hon. Counsel Haj Muhammad Ali Aluma, the UMSC Acting Secretary, engaged in comprehensive discussions with the guests on various aspects, such as Islamic propagation (Dawah), education, community social transformation projects, and effective media channels for disseminating information to the wider public.
